The CLH Group renews the European Excellence Seal 500+ with a score of over 600 points

The CLH Group has renewed its European Excellence Seal 500+ awarded by the Club for Excellence in Management (Club de Excelencia en Gestión or CEG) after successfully passing an external assessment performed by AENOR (Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification). This recognition is the maximum distinction awarded by the CEG for excellence in organisations.

In order to achieve this, CLH has undergone a strict assessment performed by professionals accredited by AENOR and the CEG who, after paying a visit to the company and holding interviews with professionals in different areas and work centres, have awarded a score of between 600 and 650 points.

Only 48 Spanish entities, just three of them in the energy industry, have obtained the European excellence distinction 500+, which is granted according to the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Excellence Model, only a reduced number of organisations having obtained over 600 points.

The Assessment Report highlights the “proactive adaptation to the growth scenario of the Spanish economy and the internationalisation of its activities.” Particularly, it indicates the good results obtained by CLH in recent financial years.

Furthermore, the report references other positive aspects, such as the efficiency-oriented approach, which enables CLH to be successful in its business strategy; the use of planning, training and talent-management tools to improve the development of company staff; the financial stability and robustness to support investments abroad; the emphasis on maintaining safety and sustainability criteria in its activities or the progress recorded in managing relations with its stakeholders.

In order to renew this seal, all CLH’s business areas have made a constant improvement effort by continuously reviewing their activity, as well as designing and implementing new projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and internal and external customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

EFQM Excellence Model

The CLH Group was first awarded the European Excellence Seal 500+ in 2010, four years after it started the implementation of the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in its management systems, as an initiative to strengthen and progress in quality, environmental and safety and prevention systems, which had previously been implemented and certified. Since then, the company has renewed this certification every two years, improving its score every time.

In addition, in 2015 the CLH Group was appointed Ambassador for European Excellence 2015, a title created by the Club for Excellence in Management (CEG) in collaboration with the High Commissioner for Marca España of the Spanish Government in order to promote the excellence of Spanish organisations at the international level.

The EFQM European Excellence Model involves a global company management that enables the needs and expectations of all stakeholders to be met in full and in a balanced way, aiming at improving the competitiveness of the company in the medium and long term.

Following this model, the company performs periodic self-assessments for a thorough analysis of the organisation and to increase awareness of its strengths and areas for improvement. Planning and implementation of improvement actions are followed up in an objective manner using indicators, so that it is possible to assess the effectiveness of these initiatives at all times.
