Exolum most valuable asset is, and will always be, its employees. Healthy and fit employees are essential to ensuring the company remains efficient and profitable.

Stress in the workplace
  • Exolum recognises that work-related stress has a negative impact on employees wellbeing in many forms and so needs to be carefully considered.
  • Always treat others as you wish to be treated yourself.
  • Organize and keep control – whether in the office or on site. As soon as you feel that the situation is escaping you, stop and make a plan. Prioritize tasks, from the most urgent to what can wait.
  • Take a break! Go for a walk or sit and take some deep breaths and relax for a moment.
  • If you’re feeling under stress talk to someone, if you don’t want to confide in someone at work then call the Employee Assist Help Line Unum on 0800 048 2702.

5 steps to Mental Wellbeing
  • Connect: Connect with the people around you: your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. Spend time developing these relationships.
  • Be active: You don’t have to go to the gym. Take a walk, go cycling or play a game of football. Find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your life.
  • Keep learning: Learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence. So why not sign up for that cooking course, start learning to play a musical instrument.
  • Give to others: Even the smallest act can count, whether it’s a smile, a thank you or a kind word. Larger acts, such as volunteering can improve your mental wellbeing and help you build new social networks.
  • Be mindful: Be more aware of the present moment, including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you.

Drugs & Alcohol

  • Exolum recognises that the use of illegal drugs, misuse of legal drugs and the abuse of alcohol can impair job performance at work and can be a serious threat to safety, health, environment and productivity.
  • Exolum will randomly select employees asking them to undergo a with-cause drug / alcohol test.
