The city council of San Fernando de Henares, the Real Madrid Foundation and Exolum renew their cooperation

• The Social and Football Sports School located in the city begins its 11th season

San Fernando de Henares, 19 October 2020.- At the city hall earlier today the mayor of San Fernando de Henares, Javier Corpa, received the ambassador of Real Madrid, Álvaro Arbeloa, and Exolum’s Spain Region Lead, Jorge Guillén, to sign the renewal of the collaboration agreement entered into by the three entities, thus making it possible for the Social and Football Sports School, aimed at integration and established in the city in 2010, to continue in operation.

The event was also attended by the city’s sports councillor, Francisco Lombardo, and the managing director of the Real Madrid Foundation, Julio González Ronco, to kickstart the new season of activities using sport as a value-based educational tool. “It is a great honour and a privilege for our city to be the home of this school, which teaches children healthy lifestyle habits, as well as peaceful coexistence, integration and equality, by using sport as an educational tool, and promotes camaraderie and respect,” declared the mayor.

For his part, Exolum’s representative stated that “It is an honour for Exolum to sponsor initiatives such as this one which have great influence on children and help them to train as athletes and to mature by using sport as a tool to convey values and principles that are essential to adult life, such as effort, self-improvement and teamwork.”

The ambassador of Real Madrid and current coach of the Club’s youth team highlighted the relevance of values in educational sports as part of teaching healthy lifestyle habits in a sedentary society, and stressed that: “As a former professional player and as a parent, I can say without a doubt that sport and its values make better, fuller and more upright people.”

Around one hundred children, both boys and girls, will benefit from fully or partially subsidised activities so that everyone can access educational sports with Real Madrid, regardless of their situation.
