The city council of San Fernando de Henares, the Real Madrid Foundation and Exolum renew their cooperation

The Social and Football Sports School located in the city supports around 100 children each season

The assistant to the general director of the Real Madrid Foundation, Iker Casillas, received earlier today the mayor of San Fernando de Henares, Javier Corpa, and Exolum’s Spain Region Lead, Jorge Guillén, at the Auditorium of Real Madrid City in order to renew their cooperation for the development of the Social and Football Sports School for integration in this city of the Madrid region.

Children aged between 5 and 17 who participate in the project benefit from fully or partially subsidised activities thanks to the support of Exolum and the cooperation of the city council, both through its sports department by allowing the premises to be used for such purposes and from the social services area, which means that at least 50% of available slots are for children at risk of social exclusion or at a social disadvantage.

The mayor of San Fernando de Henares particularly highlighted that “many boys and girls in our city benefit from this project by receiving an education in sports values. As their mayor, I am proud to see that this project continues to move forward and I hope this will be so for many years ahead. ”

Jorge Guillén, Exolum’s Spain Region Lead, emphasised his “thanks to the Real Madrid Foundation and the city council of San Fernando de Henares for giving us the opportunity to sponsor this social and sports school for the 12th consecutive year. This is a highly important project for us, as it promotes values among young people that are really necessary such as tolerance, integration and team work through sports.”

Iker Casillas highlighted: “We cannot improve society in the future unless we educate those who are going to build it. Sport is our tool, but we need a good team to play that ball. In this particular case, this is made possible by the support from Exolum and the cooperation of the city council.”

The cooperation agreement among the three entities represents the consolidation for another year of this common project developed in this city of the Madrid region since 2011, therefore celebrating its 12th season this year.
