During the signing ceremony, Paloma O’Shea, Founding President of the Queen Sofia Higher School of Music, highlighted that “the School is in the process of expanding and developing, so having a new Corporate Friend such as Exolum will help us to continue our support for future young artists in their artistic and personal growth.”
For his part, Jorge Lanza, Exolum’s CEO, added that “At Exolum we are delighted to partner with the Queen Sofia Higher School of Music. We firmly believe in the power of music to bring people together and promote creativity. This collaboration reflects our commitment to education and culture, and it is also aligned with our Sustainability Plan. We fully identify ourselves with the search of excellence, which is one of the values that the School embodies. This value resonates with Exolum’s mission and vision and we are excited to take it forward with this new collaboration.”
Founded in 1991 by Paloma O’Shea, the mission of the Queen Sofia Higher School of Music is to support young musicians in their personal and musical development and to bring music closer to society. It is inspired by three main values: educational quality, including academic, artistic and management aspects; social commitment, focused on inclusiveness and having an impact on society as a whole, especially on more vulnerable communities or those with little access to music; and continuous improvement, driven by a growth mindset and an innovative spirit.
Every year, over 160 students from over 30 different countries, chosen solely for their talent, receive free tuition at the School, which provides personalised training from the world’s best specialists. The students also have the opportunity to perform at more than 300 public concerts every year at the most prestigious music venues in Spain and abroad. The School’s extensive musical agenda reaches an audience of over 70,000 people.
The School’s more than 900 former students hold relevant positions in orchestras, lead successful careers as solo artists, contributing significantly to the international music scene, and teach young musicians at the best music schools. www.escuelasuperiordemusicareinasofia.es
