Exolum and AEMENER join forces to promote equality and the empowerment of women

The Spanish Association of Women for Energy (AEMENER) and Exolum have signed a partnership agreement to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together to develop actions of common interest that contribute to the achievement of each institution’s goals, including joint projects, actions and any other activity that contributes to the objective of the agreement. Accordingly, the two organisations reinforce their commitment to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender equality and the empowerment of women, and 17 on the establishment of partnerships to achieve the goals.

The signing ceremony, which was held at Exolum’s headquarters in Madrid, was attended by Carmen Becerril, the chairwoman of AEMENER, and Jorge Lanza, the CEO of Exolum.

Following the signing of the agreement, Exolum CEO Jorge Lanza said that ‘it is vitally important that businesses and institutions work proactively to achieve a more equal and inclusive society. And, to this end, promoting the empowerment of women in the professional sphere is key’.

Carmen Becerril, President of AEMENER, stated that “the alliances allow us to go further in our aim to achieve greater participation of women in all professional fields and at all levels of companies in the energy sector”.

Exolum fosters diversity and equality among its employees and promotes mechanisms to increase the presence of women in the organisation, in a sector such as energy that has historically employed more men. In this respect, the company is committed to working to promote the scientific and technical training of girls and break down the gender barriers that impede their access to these studies, with a view to fostering the full development of female talent and the incorporation of women in the workplace, thus progressing towards full equality.
