CLH Aviación starts its operations at Ciudad Real airport

  • The company will provide fuel operation and into-plane fuelling services over the next two years

CLH Aviación has started its operations at Ciudad Real airport, where it has signed a commercial agreement with the handling operator SMIA (South Madrid International Airport, S.L.) for the provision of aviation fuel storage resources and equipment and into-plane fuelling services.

The company has been selected by the organisation that owns and manages the airport, CRIA (Ciudad Real International Airport), through its subsidiary SMIA, for the provision of these services over the next two years, after a negotiation phase with different agents which resulted in CLH Aviación being selected as the successful bidder thanks to its expertise and experience at other airports.

Into-plane fuelling includes filling and emptying the aircraft tank as well as loading aviation fuels.

Ciudad Real is the first private equity international airport in Spain intended for public use. After its reopening, it mainly performs maintenance operations and private flights, but it is expected that in the short term it will also operate cargo and commercial flights.

CLH Aviación is a Strategic Partner of IATA and a member of the Joint Inspection Group (JIG), where it is an active participant in the Technical Forum and the Operations Committee, which entails the application of the best international practices with regard to operations and safety, occupational safety and environmental management.

The company also participates on several committees and subcommittees of the Energy Institute and is an affiliate member of the ALTA (Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association).
