Exolum presents “Avikor” a platform that enables individuals and companies to fly more sustainably

  • Exolum, a subsidiary of the CLH Group, offers through the Avikor to all passengers traveling from Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas Airport platform the possibility of flying while reducing CO2 emissions, using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)

Exolum, the subsidiary of the CLH Group dedicated to boosting new business opportunities committed to the development and sustainability of the planet, has set up its Avikor platform which offers both individuals and companies the chance to fly more sustainably by enabling them to reduce the emissions from their flights through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Avikor offers, to any passenger of any airline traveling from Adolfo Suárez- Madrid Barajas Airport and soon from Barcelona- El Prat, the possibility of flying while reducing the CO2 emissions caused by their flight by simply indicating the flight code through from www.avikor.com

To this end, Avikor calculates the litres of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) needed to reduce or eliminate the emissions caused by the flights the customer has requested and it introduces this fuel into the fuelling system of the airport, replacing traditional kerosene. The customer pays the difference in price between the two fuel types.

Avikor sends to the airport the amount of SAF acquired for the flights each day, and the customers receive a message informing them that the SAF they have purchased has been dispatched to the airport before their flight takes off. Avikor credits to each customer the volume of sustainable fuel contracted. It is also certified by an independent body, in this case AENOR.

The Avikor service also favours the development of the aviation biofuel sector, encouraging industrial activity in the circular economy. Furthermore, sustainable biofuels are the best option to reduce CO2 emissions in the aviation sector since, over the course of their life cycle, they offset up to 80% of these emissions.
