Bleecker Technologies, artificial intelligence applied to logistics, awarded the Info-Exolum Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Geniotic, focused on robotics, and Flowgy, software for otolaryngology specialists, received the second and third prizes, respectively
Bleecker Technologies, a spin-off of the University of Murcia that markets advanced products and solutions for the industry that are specially designed to be used in logistics processes, has been given the Entrepreneur of 2021 Award in the region of Murcia, organised by Exolum and the Promotion Institute (INFO). The prize is endowed with 6,000 euros.
According to Joaquín Gómez, director of the INFO: ‘With each edition, the level of entrepreneurship in the region of Murcia increases significantly and becomes more and more focused on highly innovative and groundbreaking projects, as is the case of the three award-winning projects today. Moreover, they offer solutions to industrial challenges in sectors such as logistics which improve the competitiveness of the overall business structure in Murcia’.
During the award ceremony, Javier Alonso, Exolum’s Global HSSE & Technology Lead, highlighted ‘the importance of recognising talent, promoting entrepreneurship and supporting entrepreneurial projects so that they can become pioneering and cutting-edge companies that boost the region’.
The three winning projects were selected from among the twelve winners of the Entrepreneur of the Month Awards in 2021. The awards are part of Exolum’s commitment to entrepreneurship in order to contribute to the development of innovative projects and the fostering of an entrepreneurial spirit within its Entrepreneurship Support Policy. This policy is applied nationwide, and particularly in the cities and regions in which the company is present.
As for the INFO, the event is part of multiple activities it carries out to promote entrepreneurship within its C(i*EMP) Strategy, aimed at moving towards an economic model based on knowledge, while supporting the creation and consolidation of new companies by responding to new business and technological challenges that strengthen priority sectors in the region of Murcia.
Bleecker Technologies facilitates the monitoring and traceability of all elements by using cameras and innovative visual tags based on patterns that are specifically designed for a robust and precise detection under adverse circumstances. This solution is based on artificial intelligence, can be printed on any material (even traditional tags), is optimised to be read with cameras and is created for industrial environments.
Geniotic, winner of the second prize endowed with 4,000 euros, is the result of young professionals with experience in industrial machinery automation, robotics, design, development and manufacture joining forces. This engineering company is engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of turnkey applications and has become a leader in the industrial robotics sector. Geniotic’s applications are based on industrial automation integrating advanced systems and technological elements such as industrial robots, artificial vision systems, and proprietary control and communication software systems.
The third prize, endowed with 2,000 euros, went to GLOWGY, a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. The project consists of a medical software integrating all the modules required for everyday medical practice in otolaryngology into a single tool by combining computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and nasal virtual surgical techniques.
For seven years, Exolum and INFO have maintained a partnership agreement aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in Murcia and contributing to the creation of local companies and jobs.
