Scope of the concession
DFBOT project to expand the existing fuel farm and hydrant system.
- Fuel farm:
Fuel farm: three 5,000 m3 tanks and two 50 m3 Jet A-1 (JIG 2) tanks; hydrant pump station; six filter banks, two 1,450-metre 14-inch pipelines from the pump station to the hydrant system on Pier 4 and two 1,430-metre 10-inch pipelines from the first valve chamber (after the first 1,450-metre stretch) to Pier 1. The facility is located outside the airport. It replaces the airport’s existing fuel farm (built in 1970), which was modernised as part of the service concession agreement with the construction of three 5,000 m3 tanks and two 50 m3 Jet A-1 tanks, a six-hydrant pump station and filter banks connected to the hydrant system, six automatic loading piers for the fuel dispensers, a AI operations building and an ITP operations building.
Four new automatic loading piers have also been commissioned and are now operational. The existing Jet A-1 tanks (3 x 800 m3) have been converted into water tanks for the fire-fighting system (FFS). These form part of the new FFS built to meet new, more stringent, sector standards such as NFPA 25.
- Hydrant System:
Expansion of the hydrant system and connection to the fuel farm via a double pipeline. Pier 1 (Terminal 1) and Pier 4 (Terminal 2). All 31 aircraft stands connected to the hydrant system; 78 hydrant valves. Plus an airside loading zone for tank trucks with two automatic loading points connected to the hydrant system and a control panel.
- New fire-fighting system to extend and modernise the existing system.
- Operation and maintenance of the fuel farm and hydrant system.
