Various projects related to the design, construction, modernisation and operation of the fuel storage facility and hydrant system.

Construction and commissioning of the Terminal 2 hydrant system.

Design and construction of the new hydrant system expansion.
2006
CLH signed a 14-year agreement with AENA Aeropuertos SA to modernise and operate an aviation fuel storage system and free access hydrants. The project included:
- Design and commissioning of hydrant system for the new Terminal 1 platform
- Design and construction of new pipeline to connect the new hydrant system
- Design and construction of an automatic loading pier on a separate apron

Fuel system
- The fuel facility includes: Three 12,000 m3 Jet A-1 tanks, one 1,000 m3 Jet A-1 product recovery tank, one 50 m3 Jet A-1 product recovery tank, two 25 m3 aviation fuel tanks.
- Jet A-1 reception via a dedicated pipeline from the Barcelona tank enclosure, comprising two filter banks, with MF and FWS, each filter with a flow rate of 340 m3/h.

Hydrant system
- Hydrant network details: 98 aircraft stands with access to a hydrant, 232 hydrant valves, 58 low points and 56 vents, 16,500 metres of pipeline, 2,320 m3
- Automatic piers with two remote loading points on the airport apron, supplied by the hydrant system through a 366-metre 8-inch pipeline.
- Operating data: 5 pumps (250 m3/h – Hydrant operating pressure: 9 kg/cm2); three filter banks with one FWS and one FM, with a flow rate of 410 m3/h per bank.
