Scope of the concession

Various projects related to the design, construction, modernisation and operation of the fuel storage facility and hydrant system. Key dates:

1997

Design and commissioning of hydrant system in Terminal 3.

2001

Design and commissioning of hydrant system in Terminal 2.

2002

Modernisation of the existing fuel tank and two 18-inch pipelines between the fuel farm tanks and the hydrant system.

2004-2005

Expansion of the Terminal 4 hydrant system. 

  • Fuel system:
    • Five 10,000 m3 Jet A 1 tanks
    •  Automatic loading piers with two loading points.
  • Hydrant system:
    • 264 aircraft stands with hydrant
    • 35,500 metres of pipeline
    • 4,450 m3 capacity

2007

Exolum signed a 30-year agreement with AENA Aeropuertos S.A. to construct and operate a free access aviation fuel storage and hydrant system. The project included:

  • Improvements to existing fuel facilities at Torrejón to accommodate
    • Jet A-1 fuel Four 25,000 m3 Jet A-1 (JIG2) tanks
    • Four 25,000 m3 Jet A-1 (JIG3) tanks
  • Construction of two 24,750-metre pipelines from the pump station to connect to the Barajas hydrant system.
  • Dismantling of existing fuel facility.
    • Real project start date: 2010.

    • Operations start date: 2014.
