The CLH Group awards the 2014 “Zero accidents” prize to the Max Streicher company

  • For the last four years, CLH has been awarding the "Zero Accidents" prize to collaborating companies with the best conduct in occupational health and safety practices

The CLH Group has awarded its annual "Zero Accidents" prize to the pipelines construction company Max Streicher España, whose parent company is German. The aim of this award is to recognise the best conduct in occupational health and safety matters among the collaborating companies that have provided their services at the company's facilities.

The chairman of CLH, José Luis López de Silanes, presented the award to the chairman of Max Streicher España, Mario Bianchi, during a ceremony held today at the company's head offices in Madrid.

The members of the jury, which was formed by members of the Occupational Risk Prevention, Environmental Affairs and Safety Division, awarded the prize to Max Streicher España, the firm responsible for replacing pipe sections in the CLH pipeline network, since no occupational accident was recorded during the work carried out for the company in 2013.

The CLH Group has been awarding the "Zero Accidents" prize for four years now, with the aim of involving collaborating companies in the company's values and its safety and accident prevention policy.

In order to be eligible for this recognition, collaborating companies must hold approval from the CLH Group and are required to have signed the "Zero is Possible" Safety Commitment document by which they undertake to foster the physical, mental and social wellbeing of their workers, through suitable protection and prevention measures for countering the risks that are inherent in their daily work.

During 2013, the CLH Group invested around 47 million euros on various projects for expanding and improving its infrastructures, which involved the collaboration of 450 outside companies that put in an overall total of more than 888,600 hours of work, with 3 accidents causing sick leave and 23 lost working days, this representing a Total Accident Frequency Rate of 5.63 and a Serious Injury Rate of 0.03.
