CLH has invested 4.5 million euros in the construction of two new overhead power lines and one substation to supply electricity to its transportation and storage facilities located within the municipality of Arahal, which will improve the power supply in the area.

The project consists of the construction of a new 66 kV double circuit line connecting the Don Rodrigo substation, located in the municipality of Alcalá de Guadaira, and the new substation built in the hydrocarbon storage facility owned by the company in Arahal. The line is approximately 21.6 kilometre long.

It also includes the construction of another line connecting the substation at the storage facility and the pipeline pumping facility operated by the company in the area. This second 66 kV single circuit line is 1.5 kilometre long.

Both power lines, together with part of the new substation built, will be made available and integrated into the electricity distribution grid in the area, with the regional power distribution company becoming the owner once received and commissioned.

In addition to supplying the company's fuel storage infrastructure, these lines and the new substation will represent an improvement in electricity supply in the area, as they form a new connection point for the municipality and an alternative supply route.

CLH owns an oil product storage facility in Arahal, with a capacity of 184,000 cubic metres, as well as connections to the Rota-Zaragoza and Huelva-Arahal pipelines. Such capacity is mainly intended for storing part of the Spanish strategic fuel reserves.

In addition, the facility is designed for the purpose of ensuring safety and minimising any impact on the environment. Therefore, it has several prevention systems in place, such as: rainwater collection network separated from the hydrocarbon-polluted system, a water treatment system, bunding, safety distances between tanks and tanks with floating screens and overflow prevention systems.
