CLH and the Polytechnic University celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Chair in Hydrocarbon Metrology

  • The activities carried out by this institution have allowed for the development of a large number of projects in the educational, research and development fields.

The vice-rector of Institutional Communication and External Promotion of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Javier Jiménez Leube, and the chairman of CLH, José Luis López de Silanes Busto, have celebrated the 10th anniversary of the creation of the CLH Chair in Hydrocarbon Metrology of the School of Mining and Energy Engineering.

The chair was created in 2006 as a result of an agreement entered into by CLH and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) with the purpose of promoting knowledge in hydrocarbon metrology, in addition to fostering research activities that enable advancements in knowledge, providing solutions to real problems in the operation of storage facilities and oil product transportation.

It carries out teaching activities, as well as research and development actions. In this regard, the collaboration between CLH and the School of Mining and Energy Engineering has consolidated highly relevant research projects, representing a great advancement with a significant practical application in the company’s activities.

Moreover, the chair offers scholarships for end-of-degree projects relating to hydrocarbon metrology, in addition to the possibility for selected students to work as interns in CLH.

CLH understands that verification and calibration are priority tasks for the company, as a key pillar for its service quality is the accuracy of the measurements carried out for the products used in its activities, liquid hydrocarbons.

CLH manages the only Spanish Metrology laboratory that is accredited for calibration – volume by the Public administration and for its range of operations by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC), and it has also been appointed Collaborating Laboratory of the Spanish Centre of Metrology.
