  • Both companies highlight collaboration as a key enabler for accelerating the decarbonisation of transport.

  • The event provided an opportunity to explore the potential of hydrogen in mobility and other hard-to-electrify sectors.

Madrid, June 25, 2026.  Hyundai and Exolum hosted an event at Exolum’s facilities in Torrejón de Ardoz to showcase the new generation Hyundai NEXO, one of the most advanced hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on the market, and to exchange views on the role of hydrogen in the energy transition and sustainable mobility.

The event brought together institutional representatives, companies from the energy and hydrogen sectors, leasing companies, media representatives and other key industry stakeholders, creating a forum for knowledge sharing and discussion on the opportunities offered by hydrogen as an energy vector.

Hyundai highlighted the importance of collaboration in accelerating the energy transition: “Events like this reinforce our commitment to advancing hydrogen as a key solution for sustainable mobility and demonstrate the importance of working together across the entire ecosystem,” said Leopoldo Satrústegui, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Spain.

During the event, Irene Lores, Global Clean Energies Lead at Exolum, highlighted the value of creating opportunities for dialogue across the industry: “The development of new energy vectors requires collaboration, shared knowledge and the ability to translate innovation into real-world applications. Events like this allow us to exchange experiences and move forward together with the wider ecosystem”.

Commenting on the initiative, Nacho Casajús, SVP Global Energy Logistics at Exolum, said: “Unlocking the full potential of hydrogen also requires infrastructure that is ready to support its deployment. By sharing knowledge and showcasing real-world applications, we can help accelerate the large-scale deployment of these solutions in a safe and efficient way”.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to experience first-hand the new generation Hyundai NEXO, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, and discuss the role this technology can play in decarbonising transport and other sectors that are difficult to electrify.

Through this initiative, Hyundai and Exolum reaffirm their commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing as key drivers of innovative solutions that can accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Exolum is actively developing logistics solutions for new energy vectors, including hydrogen, and participates in a range of initiatives aimed at facilitating the decarbonisation of hard-to-electrify sectors. The company believes that collaboration between industry, mobility and infrastructure stakeholders will be essential to accelerating the energy transition.
