The CLH Group has approved its new Biodiversity Policy, which aims at strengthening the sustainability of its activities and promoting the protection of the environment and natural resources.
This new policy consists of five principles that will be applied systematically in its activities.
As part of these principles, CLH takes on the commitment to protect biodiversity in all the stages of its activities and to respect national and international legislation, as well as any other regulations or requirements subscribed by the company.
CLH also envisages the integration of the conservation of biological diversity in its activities, paying special attention to areas of major biological protection and flora and fauna of special interest in the areas surrounding the company’s activities.
In addition, CLH will promote the use of native species of vegetation in those areas where it is present, controlling and avoiding invasive flora and fauna species, which may endanger habitats.
The promotion of research and training by means of specific projects for fostering biodiversity through cooperation with universities, research centres and other institutions is also part of this policy.
The company is also committed to actively reinforcing the cooperation with its stakeholders, both public and private, to adhere to its commitment to conserving biodiversity.
This new Biodiversity Policy forms part of the CLH Group Corporate Social Responsibility Master Plan for 2012-2016, which includes different initiatives for the protection of the environment, such as the collaboration agreement signed with the GREFA association for the study of sustainability in its pipeline network, the calculation and verification of the carbon footprint deriving from its operations and the incorporation of low-emission vehicles in its fleet.
