CLH and the Port Authority of The Balearic Islands sign a good environmental practices agreement

The president of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, Alberto Pons, and the head of CLH logistics in the north-east region, Iván Saco, have signed a good environmental practices agreement based on the Law governing State Ports and the Merchant Navy.

Through this agreement, CLH undertakes to carry out regular controls, that will be accredited by independent specialist personnel, to certify that the CLH storage facilities in the Balearic Islands meet the stringent environmental requirements laid down by law, in addition to implementing improvement programmes. For its part, the Port Authority will apply a 20% rebate on the corresponding port dues, in accordance with the above-mentioned Law.

CLH is the first company in the Balearic Islands to sign this agreement, which is similar to those CLH has signed with the port authorities in Barcelona, Algeciras and Bilbao. It complements the Environmental Management System of the plant, and joins the list of other certification awards held by the facility, such as ISO 14001 environmental certification.

CLH has four storage facilities in the Balearic Islands, two on the island of Majorca, and a further two plants on the islands of Ibiza and Minorca, in addition to a pipeline network more than 55 kilometres long. Through its subsidiary CLH Aviación, the company is also present in this autonomous community at the four Balearic Island airports, where it supplies aviation fuels to aircraft operating at their terminals.

Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH is the leading company in the Spanish market for the transportation and storage of oil products, with a pipeline network over 4,000 kilometres long and 39 storage facilities that have a total capacity of 8  million cubic metres, as well as 28 airport facilities.
