  • The Real Madrid Foundation, Exolum and San Fernando de Henares Town Council celebrate the renewal of their partnership

Madrid, February 2, 2026.

For more than a decade, the Real Madrid Foundation, in collaboration with Exolum and San Fernando de Henares Town Council, has been running a social sports school that uses sport as an educational and social inclusion tool for children and young people in the municipality.

The Real Madrid City was the venue for the renewal event, which was attended by Francisco Javier Corpa, Mayor of San Fernando de Henares; Jorge Guillén, CEO Iberia of Exolum; and Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, who highlighted the importance of this model of public-private collaboration with long-term social impact.

The mayor stated that ‘It is a well-established project with a bright future, which combines the values of sport with human values. We are proud to have the support of the Real Madrid Foundation and Exolum, one of the most important companies in our city’. For his part, Jorge Guillén explained: ‘The fact that generations of children, for whom a social sports school is so necessary, have been able to enjoy this project for so many years is, for us, the true definition of success.’ Finally, Emilio Butragueño highlighted that ‘the social sports school in San Fernando de Henares is the result of a partnership that has been in place for more than 10 years and has had a real impact on the community.’

The project, which is carried out at the municipal sports centre in San Fernando de Henares, involves around 70 children each season. Aimed at children aged between 5 and 17, the programme’s main objective is to educate them in values through sport, beyond the practice of football. To this end, it applies the Real Madrid Foundation’s own methodology, developed more than 20 years ago and constantly updated.

In recent seasons, the project has reinforced its inclusive nature by incorporating children with disabilities, who train alongside the rest of the participants in an environment that promotes diversity and equal opportunities.

The school has a system of scholarships and partial scholarships, which guarantees the participation of children in socially vulnerable situations. In this regard, the support of Exolum is essential, as is the collaboration of the San Fernando de Henares City Council, especially through the Sports and Social Services departments.

This initiative has established itself as a model of joint and sustained work over time, with a long-term social impact, demonstrating how collaboration between private entities and public institutions can generate real opportunities for children and young people.
