Exolum joins the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) to contribute to the development of technical and logistical solutions for CO2 reduction in Europe and the United Kingdom
The company will contribute its technical expertise to design integrated carbon transport and storage solutions, with a multimodal pipeline model and flexible rail and maritime transport solutions
Madrid, December 18, 2025. Exolum has formalized its membership of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA), the leading European organization dedicated to promoting the deployment of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). In this way, Exolum, a leader in liquid product logistics solutions in
Europe, reinforces its commitment to the energy transition and positions itself as a key player in the logistics management of the CO2 value chain.
Exolum’s membership of the CCSA comes at a landmark moment for the development of carbon capture, use and storage, a technology that will play a key role in meeting the European Union’s 2025 net zero targets. For its part, Exolum brings to the partnership a strong track record as a logistics operator and an extensive infrastructure network, with more than 60 terminals across
Europe and the UK, offering integrated and tailored solutions for CO₂ transport and storage. These solutions combine both pipeline infrastructure and other logistical alternatives, including rail and
shipping, depending on the needs of each project.
For Irene Lores, Clean Energies Lead at Exolum, “joining the CCSA will enable us to collaborate with different players in the sector, share knowledge, and advance our role as a logistics integrator within
the carbon value chain. Our goal is to help make decarbonization projects viable by developing optimized and secure transport networks. Exolum will contribute its operational expertise to the association to design solutions that efficiently connect industrial emitters with end-use plants or geological storage sites.¨
A key player in the European market
Exolum is already implementing this strategy by developing two carbon capture logistics hubs in Spain, located in A Coruña and Huelva, designed to bring together the needs of multiple emitting
companies. In Spain, the company also has an agreement with ADIF to incorporate rail logistics solutions into its terminal network.
The company also has a privileged position in the United Kingdom, where it operates more than 20 facilities, mainly in key port locations, enabling it to interact directly with the main British industrial clusters and facilitate the export or storage of captured carbon.
