Net Zero Plan
We are progressing towards climate neutrality through a structured, ambitious and measurable roadmap: our Net Zero Plan. This plan guides our actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all our operations and throughout the value chain, aligning sustainability with operational excellence.
Progress and Targets
- 2018–present: Steady reduction of our carbon footprint, driven by 100%
renewable electricity, solar power generation and energy efficiency
improvements. - 2030 target: 53% reduction in emissions (aligned with the SBTi).
- 2040 Net Zero target: 90% reduction in emissions, bringing forward the SBTi
target by 10 years. - Primary focus on Scope 1 and 2 emissions, alongside a comprehensive
strategy for Scope 3.

Main initiatives
- Six solar power plants for on-site consumption at key pumping stations in
Spain and the United Kingdom. - Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to ensure 100% renewable electricity
supply. - Annual purchase of Guarantees of Origin (GoOs/REGOs) for green energy.
- Energy efficiency improvements in steam generation boilers, optimising
performance. - Scope 3 decarbonisation initiatives, including supplier impact categorisation,
emissions footprint calculation by category and a sustainable procurement
policy. - An internal CO₂ price as a prioritisation tool to guide investments towards
those with the greatest emissions reduction impact.
Governance and Monitoring
Our Net Zero Plan is supported by a robust governance framework that ensures its
effectiveness and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Progress is
regularly monitored by dedicated committees, with periodic reporting to the Board of Directors and full integration into strategic and operational decision-making.
