Key Actions

  • Collaboration with GREFA to conserve the Montagu’s harrier in La Sagra Madrileña through nest monitoring, GPS tagging and agricultural awareness
    programmes.
  • Participation in the European Phy2Climate project, applying phytoremediation techniques to decontaminate polluted soils and produce sustainable biofuels.
  • Biodiversity studies to assess the flora and fauna surrounding our facilities, identifying species and opportunities to protect and enhance local biodiversity.
  • Participation in the Life Coop Cortaderia project, alongside SEO BirdLife, to control the spread of Pampas grass, an invasive species in the Atlantic Arc, and to naturalise landscaped areas at our facilities.

 

Action Principles

  • Integration of biodiversity protection principles throughout the entire operational lifecycle, from design to daily activities.
  • Priority use of native plant species and control of invasive species to maintain ecological balance.
  • Promotion of landscape continuity and habitat creation to support local wildlife and foster resilient ecosystems.
