Different people approach problems differently and we believe that diversity is the engine that fuels innovation. That’s why our Enable driver champions key initiatives that raise awareness of diverse abilities and foster environments where individuals with a wide range of cognitive and neurological strengths can thrive.
Raising awareness about Neurodiversity. Neurodiversity refers to the natural differences in how people think, learn, and process information. Around 15%-20% of the population is neurodivergent, including individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or dyspraxia. These differences are not deficits, but valuable ways of experiencing and contributing to the world.
In October 2024, we launched the NeuroInclusion Network, an initiative led by Chris Turner, a Pipeline Technician with 20_years at Exolum. The network aims to foster a more inclusive environment by raising awareness of neurodiversity and
equipping both neurodivergent individuals and their colleagues with practical
tools for support. It offers a safe space for connection and knowledge sharing, while actively engaging the wider workforce through workshops and fireside chats that help reduce stigma and promote inclusive practices.
My autism diagnosis in 2024 gave me a new perspective, not just on myself but on the workplace. What started as a simple coffee morning has grown into a movement that’s changing how Exolum understands and supports neurodivergence. For me, this isn’t just about events or policies — it’s about people. It’s about creating a culture where difference is valued, and everyone feels understood and included.
